A professional facilitator keeps the action going and on track, but the audience decides many of the elements. There are different formats or forms within which to work. As a matter of fact, there are unlimited formats and more are being created all the time. A party requires a minimum of 6 participants. Audience member count may vary.
Examples:
*Bus Stop, riders get on and off the bus and keep a conversation thread going.
*Gibberish, one participant talks gibberish and the other participant talks English and they carry on a conversation.
*Sound Effects, an audience member creates the sound effects for a designated actor on stage.
*Audience Choice, the audience chooses the location for any number of participants and chooses the characters as well. Participants act out a spontaneous sketch.
Leave your self esteem and inhibitions at the door!! Keep the sketch moving by acknowledging what thet other participants are contributing. This is often referred to in the industry as "yes, and." Don't be a glory hog. Say things that set your team members up to make clever or comedic statements. The best results occur when all participants feel equally empowered. Face the audience while performing.
